Product Overview. Active Ingredient: Perimorphs-methyl (500 g/L), an organophosphate insecticide known for its efficacy against storage pests. Formulation: Emulsifiable concentrate (EC), allowing for easy mixing and application. Registration: Reg. No. L4620 under Act 36 of 1947, ensuring compliance with South African agricultural standards. Packaging: Available in 5L and 25L containers, catering to various storage scales. This comprehensive pest control ensures the protection of your stored commodities from infestation and damage. Application Guidelines1. Bulk Stored Maize and Sorghum: Dilute 3L of Grainfos Grainguard per 100L of clean water. Apply the diluted solution evenly to the grain stream during loading or turning into final storage. Ensure the sprayer has a recirculation system for uniform application. Three Liters of concentrate can treat approximately 185 metric tons or 2,500 bags of maize.2. Bagged Commodities (Maize, Sorghum, Groundnuts, Sunflower, Soybeans): Initial Treatment: Apply 6 ml/m² by adding 600 ml of concentrate to 20L of water, covering 100 m² of bag surface. Monthly Maintenance: Apply 3 ml/m² by adding 300 ml of concentrate to 20L of water, covering 100 m².3. Residual Surface Spraying: Treat surfaces in storage facilities, including walls, floors, machinery, and transport vehicles, to prevent pest infestation. Initial Treatment: Apply 6 ml/m² using the same dilution as for bagged commodities. Monthly Maintenance: Apply 3 ml/m² with the appropriate dilution.4. Stored Seed Maize: To prevent re-infestation, dilute 3 ml of concentrate with 1L of a registered fungicide suitable for seed treatment and apply to 100 kg of seed. Application must conform to the requirements of the Plant Improvement Act 53/1976.Safety and Handling Hazards: Flammable liquid and vapor; harmful if swallowed or inhaled; causes serious eye damage; toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Precautions: Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. Avoid breathing mist, vapours, or spray Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye protection, and face protection. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product. First Aid: If Swallowed: Immediately call a poison centre or doctor. Do NOT induce vomiting. If on Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse skin with water. If Inhaled: Move the person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If in Eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Environmental Considerations Highly toxic to aquatic life; prevent release into the environment. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local regulations.
